Mobile devices shaping the web?

How do you think mobile devices are going to change the way web pages and web browsers work?

Most mobile devices with the exception of the iPhone haven't changed the way browsers work. They've just tried to display regular websites on tiny screens and you have to do lots of scrolling to see anything. I think most companies are hoping every website owner will create a mobile version of their websites to work better with their devices.

I don't think that's going to happen. I think mobile devices are going to have to come up with innovative new ways to display the web as it exists now like the iPhone has started to do.

My friend has an iPhone, and it's browser is amazing! I think that, in time, most of the reputable companies which make decent phones will integrate web-browsers like the one of the iPhone onto their phones. The only issue would be the sizes of the screens, as to whether or not it would be possible. I do not think that a touch screen would be totally necessary, though it does work out awesome on the iPhone - magnifying and scrolling.
